THE AUTHOR: DR. ALHAJI AHMED MOHAMMED GEDEL.

DR. ALHAJI MAHAMUDU Bawumia’s response to John Dramani Mahama’s five questions is a transparent attempt to divert attention from his administration’s shortcomings. Rather than addressing pressing concerns raised by John Mahama (JM), he (Bawumia) poses 50 questions, hiding behind debate invitations and personal attacks. Ghanaians demand substance, not theatrics.

Ghana’s high debt-to-GDP ratio threatens economic stability, exacerbated by almost eight years of economic hardships, that hindered growth. The banking system’s instability and galamsey’s devastating environmental impact which further compound the nation’s challenges.
Environmental degradation, largely fueled by illegal mining, imperils ecosystems, and water sources.

The judiciary’s manipulation undermines trust in Ghana’s justice system. Selective justice and political interference erode confidence, while unfulfilled promises and inadequate infrastructure development worsen economic hardships. Unpaid teacher and nursing training allowances exemplify broken manifesto pledges.

Dr. Bawumia, as Vice President and Economic Management Team (EMT) Head, bears responsibility for Ghana’s economic challenges. His administration’s decisions, such as prioritizing political interests over national development, warrant scrutiny.

Ghanaians deserve honest answers, not deflection tactics. Dr. Bawumia must directly address the five questions posed by John Mahama, providing clarity on his economic accomplishments and challenges. Ghanaians eagerly await straightforward answers, not diversionary tactics. The nation demands transparency on economic mismanagement, crippling debt, inflation and social welfare shortcomings.

The NDC’s readiness to tackle Ghana’s socio-economic crisis is evident, as highlighted by John Mahama in his February 2024 policy dialogue; Dr. Bawumia’s clear responses will demonstrate accountability and commitment to Ghana’s progress.
