THE COMMUNICATIONS TEAM of National Democratic Congress (NDC) the Yunyoo Constituency in the North East Region of Ghana has exposed the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the extent of development in the area.

In a statement chanced on by National Tymes, Yunyoo Constituency NDC Communications Team sighted with shock, a news item published in some pro-NPP media houses indicating that the NPP government and the MP have carried out massive development in the area than the NDC government in their quest to deceive the people.
In the news item, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Oscar Liwaal sort to claim that the NPP has performed better than the NDC in the Yunyoo constituency, and listed his (Oscar Liwaal) achievements for 7 years as both District Chief Executive (DCE) and now Member of Parliament (MP).

The Yunyoo NDC has noticed that the MP was only relying on central government projects even though poor, but using it as his personal achievement as MP which is very indicting on his credibility.
NDC Communications Team quizzed, what has the MP used his Common Funds for? Is it the case that he has diverted his Common Funds (CF) to put up a modern befitting self-contained apartment for himself and his family in Nalerigu, the regional capital at the expense of the deplorable roads and infrastructural deficit in the Constituency?
The Team noted that Mr. Liwaal spoke on only three sectors of the economy, including water and sanitation, rural electrification and human resource development.
But the fact remains that the MP inherited ongoing projects in all the 31 communities that he mentioned in his release, from the NDC after the 2016 general election which were ongoing in phases with many communities including his village, Jimbale and the district capital, Yunyoo which were already completed, connected and powered to the national grid in 2014.

Most of the boreholes he claimed to have drilled are malfunctioning due to poor work and the others that he claimed are ongoing have also been abandoned by contractors over non-payment.
The NDC Communications Team further noted that conspicuously missing in his deceitful script were key sectors of the economy namely; Road infrastructure, Education, Health and Agriculture which lends credence to his lack of vision and incompetence in these sectors.
According to the Yunyoo NDC Communications Team, led by Ernest, the MP failed to mention any road projects which is critical to the daily activities of the people. There was no mention of any health project, school or any project in agriculture in the constituency by the MP.

To this, a Communications team member of the NDC in Yunyoo Constituency, comrade Konlan Nathanael Biila argued that it was obviously not an oversight on the part of the Hon MP, Hon Oscar Liwaal but a clear lack of vision and plan in those sectors. Yunyoo is rural constituency and the major occupation of the people is farming, and there are no roads for the people to and fro their farms, Mr. Konlan stated.
He iterated that the NDC constructed many new roads to enable the farmers convey their farm produce to their homes and market places. In the statement, he added that it took the NDC to provide the constituents clinics and CHPS Compounds to enable them access healthcare anytime they fall sick.
Mr. Konlan, the NDC Communications Team Member, also educated the Yunyoo NPP MP and the people on the number of schools his NDC party brought for their children.

He further pointed out that the government of the NDC and the former NDC Hon MP, Joseph Bipoba Naabu constructed 19 boreholes, and they are all functioning and serving their purposes up till now as compared to the NPP’s shabby borehole projects which most of them have broken down.
He stressed by saying that “the hallmark of the NDC is “quality”, as he added that the projects are visible and tangible for everyone to see.
