THE HON. ASSEMBLY member for Nii Laweh Electoral Area, Lawrence Nii Bortey Borquaye has organised a sensitisation programme for his electorates on environmental cleanliness over the week.
He also introduced an Ultra Morden ATM STAND PIPE to the Electorates with the use of a control card loaded with money to enable payment made easily for an affordable water.
The event was in the quest to whip-up the electorates to help keep their environment clean of any form of waste and for them to live a health life.
The well attended event appealed to the people, especially the youth to come out in their numbers anytime there is a communal labour exercise in their various areas.
Hon. Nii Bortey Borquaye urged his electorates to make it a duty to always keep their surroundings, especially the gutters clean. He informed them that any dirty surroundings have health implications such as typhoid fever, diarrhoea, malaria amongst other ailments.
In a related development, the Hon. Nii Bortey Borquaye in collaboration with the Ghana Water Company (GWC) piloting a prepaid ATM Stand Pipe project in his Nii Laweh Electoral Area.
According to him, the GWC introduced the project – Ultra Morden ATM STAND PIPE in the Manhiam community within Nii Laweh Electoral Area. He indicated that the ATM Stand-Pipe is a project meant to gradually cover the whole Nii Laweh Electoral Area.
Nii Bortey Borquaye explained to the media that the people are to use a control card loaded with money now to enable them pay for the water at an affordable price.
The people are trained to use the card easily despite their level of education; after the training, Hon Lawrence Nii Bortey Borquaye led the team to demonstrate to the people how to use the card to access the water in the community. The water ATM Card like the electricity prepaid card, is intended to reduce illegal water connections.
