A HUGE MEMBERS of the film industry (actors and actresses) based in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region dubbed Kumawood have come out strongly to show support for the opposition NDC going into 2024 general elections.
This Kumawood members defied all odds and intimidation of the governing party to bodly show readiness to rally their support behind John Dramani Mahama and the NDC to rescue Ghana from the ruling scavengers, the NPP led by President Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, Dr. Mahamoudu Bawumia and the appointees.
Kumawood members, who are christened “ARTISTS FOR THE NDC”, posited that the Nana Akufo-Addo administration made hardship a flagship policy in the country, and pursuing it with alacrity. Everyone, be it young or old, rich or poor are all crying, they added.
They hinted that the film makers in Ghana are equally suffering; nothing goes on well in the country, meanwhile, the industry contributes to the development of the country.
We have followed the lies of the mouth-mouth NPP and voted out rather the credible John Dramani Mahama led NDC. We have now realised we’ve replaced our COLOUR television set with a defective black and white set; what a regrettable mistake?, Kumawood cried.
“What saddened us most was that President Akufo-Addo said he built film village in Kyebi in stead of either Accra or Kumasi. In any case, are Kyebi people acting film?”, Artists for NDC quizzed.
The group have expressed disappointment in the NPP who used mouth-watering promises to deceive them and Ghanaians at large into believing that their party would do better than then the NDC government.
The Kumawood with their counterparts in Accra and other parts of the country, called “ARTISTS OF THE NDC” stated that they are going to go from house-to-house, village-to-village, getho-to-getho etc. to canvass for votes for the NDC and John Dramani Mahama to rescue Ghana in 2025.
According to them, led by Actress Christiana Awuni, John Mahama (JM) and the NDC had rather done estreamly better than the governing NPP who took more loans but has little projects to show.
In a live interview with Akora Kofi Darko at XYZ TV and Power fm over the week, Artists for the NDC opined that the NPP have lied their way to power, so they end up messing up the flourishing economy left for them by the NDC in 2016, and creating more hardships across the country.
The group promised they are going to campaign at the Assin North for the NDC and Candidate James Gyakye Quayson ahead of the upcoming by-election there for him to retain the seat for the NDC.
