President Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has to know by now that, he will never know his true estimation until he leaves office in 2024.
According a Political Youth Activist in the Eastern Region, Moses Tettey Dometey, If President Akufo-Addo and his appointees will understand that the office will outlive them one day, maybe they will behave better than they are doing now.
In a statement Mr. Tettey Dometey issued, he explained that people are showing the President and his appointees respect today because of the office they hold not because of their persons. “It is when that office leaves you that you will know your true worth and what people think about you”, he posited.
Mr. Tettey Dometey further explained that party people could praise you for a perceived performance, but they (ruling NPP) should not confused their loyalty to their own personal interests with loyalty to them in power today.
To this effect, he added that President Akufo-Addo and his appointees/cohorts must be careful when their own people are rather praising them, because power allures, power attracts but power is fluid, Mr Tettey Dometey aka Bola Ray Jnr. lamented.
The pictures of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, late President J.J. Rawlings, former President J.A Kuffour, late President J.A. Mills, and former President John Dramani Mahama adorning the walls of the office, should tell Nana Addo a story. Someone was there yesterday. You’re there today. Another person will be there tomorrow. Nothing, really, lasts forever, Bola RayJnr. advised.
The Young Youth Activist, urged that “if you’re appointed as a personal aide or assistant like Oppong Nkrumah, Ken Ofori Atta, Ursula Owusu, Akuffo Dampare, Tiwaa-Addo, etc, learn from those who just left and defend your principal responsibly”.
“….do your work with discretion. When you’re sent on a slavish errand, discharge your responsibility like a freeborn. Don’t inherit the enemies of your principal. When they make up, you’ll most likely not be there”, he stated.
We, the people, will continue to criticize your principal that’s Nana Akuffo Addo. Don’t turn your boss into a demi-god, and don’t turn critics to demons, but remember there is life after office, Moses Tettey Dometey asserted.
Be careful how you climb your V8 (horse) because you will come down someday.
