My mother called me on Friday and asked if I was aware Sunday is mother’s day? I laughed and said yes mum. I knew she may be by her radio. That is a mother with expectation. May God bless her for all her efforts in our lives.
Happy mother’s day to every mother. May laughter overflow in your heart, and may today’s joy cover every pain you have ever suffered for our sake.
However happy most mothers will be today, I wonder how many women will be in bed weeping and crying because their children have abandoned them. Some have called them witches or bad luck mothers. Mum, wipe your tears. You haven’t lost any child, they will come to you with an open arm. My prayers are with you this morning.
I know it can’t be easy, when all radio stations are celebrating mothers and your phone remain silent without a ring, and not even a knock on your door to wish you well. Motherhood can be strenuous and painful sometimes.
If your mother is not alive, she still deserves a testimony of gratitude. If she is far from you a call can sooth her soul. Never take it for granted.
Please don’t pass by the mother next door without sharing a kind word of love to her. It may be the only thing she needs from someone.
Moses was mothered by at least two women. Her own mother and an foster who rescued him. So are many of us.
In the community I grew up in, our mothers were many. We are products of many mothers. Some held us by the ear to report our naughtiness. Others whipped us and added a message “tell your mum I whipped you”. Life was good then.
This is to all our mother’s who have brought us this far. May the good Lord keep increasing you.
Ordinarily I should have ended here because it’s mothers day and not women’s day, but for calm at home, let’s add them peacefully. To our wives, fiancee or girlfriends, We celebrate you too. We appreciate you, but just to add that Our mothers gave us breast with milk, you gave us breast with bread.
Indeed life doesn’t come with a manual, it comes with a mother Keep hope alive, better days ahead.
