Touring a segment of the Honorable Member of Parliament’s Constituency, Joseph Appiah Boateng (aka JAB – 1) and considering the series of development in the various communities it really marvels people in the area.
This earns him the accolades, “THE KING OF DEVELOPMENT; THE PROMISE KEEPER, A HUMBLE SOUL and THE PEOPLE’S MAN”, by the kingsmen of the land, opinion leaders and the constituents as a whole.
The love of the constituent for him is endless. The ‘KING OF DEVELOPMENT’ as translated in our local dialect as “MPUNTUO HENE”, has embarked on countless developmental projects being it infrastructural or social intervention programmes. Some of these projects started even before he became the Hon. Member of Parliament (MP) for the Afram Plains South Constituency.
Among these projects includes Schools, Bore Holes, CHIPs compounds, provision of street lights etc. Hon. In addition, he constructed Bundaso School, connected light into Kwasi Fante and Odumasua Teacher’s Bungalow.
The Hon Member of Parliament for Afram Plains South also paid the salary of most of the private schools’ teachers during the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown, so they would not be stranded whilst at home during this lockdown.
The performance of Hon JAB 1, surprises majority of the people of Afram Plains South who thought candidates come to deceive them for their votes and thereafter go to recoup their investment thereby ignoring their constituents. Exceptionally as he is, did otherwise, and that gained him a lot favour of the the people of the area.
JAB – 1 continued with his massive developmental agenda just to serve his people well. As he always quotes, “the people of Afram Plains South are too dear to my heart and my wish has always been to serve them well”.
In his tenure from 2012 to 2016, he built more than 20 schools in communities such as Forifori, Foso, Iddrissu Akura, Domeabra, Kwabena Kwao, Maame Krobo Zongo, Kabukope, Akatsi, Adzidekope, Bonkro Ekye.

In lieu of this, the people’s man (ie. MP) was able to fixed Boreholes in Communities like Hwanyanso which is the current governing NPP District Chief Executive’s electoral area, Koranteng and Nyamebekyere, Samanhyia and Gyaneboafo.

Since he left parliament in 2016 due certain circumstances through to 2020 where he returned, there was no meaningful development and that resulted in lots of agitations all over the Afram Plains South Constituency following his ealier scintillating performance which has no match.
The then growing agitation by the people of Afram Plains South for his come back gave him massive votes inthe 2020 generalelections and returned him to parliament in 2021.
Following his hardwork, the Hon. Member of Parliament in his bid to ensure that development gets to everywhere in his area, JAB 1 divided the constituency with over 400 communities, into seven Zones and during his “THANK YOU TOUR” in March 17 and 18, 2022; and at the Maame Krobo Zone, he visited many communities.
Bearing the economic hardship in the country currently, Hon Joseph Appiah Boateng stood his grounds, met the Chiefs, opinion leaders and the constituents as a whole to thank them and also to deliberate on the forward match of the communities. He made his meeting an interactive one where everybody present was able to air their views on national discourse and proposed solutions arrived at.
In the course of every discussion, lots of request were laid before the Hon. MP. It is always important to keep praying for our MPs to always grant our request. As though MPs common Fund never got paid since 2021, it was so surprising how the Hon. Member was able to grant lots of the request.
THE KING OF DEVELOPMENT, during his Thank You Toure, provided 5 boxes (10 pieces) of LED street lights to Bonkro community, 5 boxes (10 pieces) of LED street lights to the Nkwanta now known as Takoratwene community and 20 boxes (40 pieces) of LED street lights to Maame Krobo community which is largest and fastest growing community in the Afram Plains South constituency. In line with this, 60 bags of cement was purchased and brought to site whilst trips of sand were ordered. There is also the support for the Nkwanta Community CHPs Compound to be constructed together with Nurses Bungalow.
As if this is not enough, JAB1 donated 16 pieces of bicycles to Allezuma School to enhance frequent school attendance of some pupils who commute from almost a 4 to 5 km distance from the school. He further ordered for an immediate repair of the borehole in the same community ascertain that it is important for the community to have access to water always. This order quickly brought the engineer to site for work to commence immediately.
In the kwaekese community, he asked the assembly man of the area to get an engineer to see to the fixing of their electricity Transformer for the people to access light.
As a promise keeper, he promised to liaise with the District Chief Executive to ensure the rehabilitation and construction of roads and Bridges to communities such as Gyaneboafo, Bonkro, Dunkro, KojoGari and Abotan. In conjunction with the DCE, they will ensure an extension of electricity to the Dunkro community, public Toilet and renovation of school Block in Nkwanta. There is therefore no doubt that the real definition of Joseph Appiah Boateng alias JAB – 1 is “THE KING OF DEVELOMENT” (MPUNTUO HENE).
