Democratic People’s Party (DPP) has joined force with the opposition NDC to unseat President Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo who has little to show in Ghana’s history from huge loans.
According to Thomas Nuaku Ward-Brew, founder and leader DPP, the NPP government is so corrupt its mandate need not be renewed to further deepened the woes of Ghanaians.
The DPP National Organizer, Eric Oklikah who read the endorsement statement on behalf of the founder, Ward-Brew indicated that President Akuffo-Addo surrounded himself his family and friends and this has corrupted the administration.
DPP mentioned corrupt Presidential deal like Agyapa Royalties deal, PDS, Sister’s Keepers who go taking money from state institutions amongst many other corrupt deals.
The press briefing made it clear that this year’s elections is the fight against corruption and today, under Nana Addo, the two institutions mandated to help him fight corruption, (i.e. Martin Alamissi Amidu and Daniel Dormilevo) are no more.
Mr. Ward-Brew also explained that DPP wants to join force because their manifesto is same as the NDC People’s Manifesto , hence the need to join the John Mahama to unseat Akuffo-Addo.
He noted the NPP have collapsed the economy making everyone complaining of serious hardship in the country. Only Free SHS connot be the solution to the hardship under the rule of Nana Addo, one of the party supporter opined.
DPP mentioned the NDC under JM has done a lot which requires that they are brought back for Mahama to come and continue with his good work.
DPP noted lots of developmental projects in the health sector, education sector infrastructure to make successful quality free secondary school, better economy amongst many others, hence their decision to endorse JM and the NDC rescue mission.
Mr. Oklikah, DPP National Organizer stated they would also campaign for the NDC in various constituencies to canvass for votes for JM and the NDC to win the 2020 elections.
The party promised to the house to house campaign to get more votes for the NDC and John Mahama to be President elect in December 7.
