A leading member of the National Zongo Caucus of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar has explained that the party’s People’s Manifesto launched promised Moslems Islamic Morgues in existing facilities in the country.
The ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP sets out their communicators with one of the party’s wing, Nasara Club led by Aziz Haruna-Futa to go round to discredit and misinform Muslims communities about need and importance of the Islamic Morgue for Moslems in Ghana.
Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar, former Deputy Chief Executive Officer CEO of MASLOC, explained that the NDC’s People’s Manifesto promised morgue for Muslems at existing health facilities and not in every zongos across the country.
In interview with National Tymes in Accra, he cited health facilities like Korle-bu, the Greater Accra Regional hospital, Ridge and 37 Military hospitals amongst others shall have new morgue buildings attached to the existing ones that would take care of corpses belonging to Moslems.
He accused the governing NPP for deliberately trying to misinform the people of Zangos, because they (NPP) did not see reasons to provide such facilities for Moslems.
Alhaji Abubakar hinted the NDC People’s Manifesto promise to establish the Islamic morgue for the people of Zango has been welcomed by the beneficiary communities. Adding, he said “the NDC never promised ‘one Zango one morgue’ in their Manifesto”.
The former MASLOC Boss made this clear when he granted an interview with Nationaltymes.com at the one week prayers (Adua) for the late Alhaji Ganiwu Musah at Nima 441 in Accra last Saturday.
Alhaji Mustaphar Abubakar reiterated that the propaganda “is an agenda by the NPP to confuse the Zango people that the NDC has promised one zone one mortuary”.
He hinted the NDC has comprehensive job plans for the people living in the Zangos across the country. Alhaji Abubakar mentioned amongst others government buying all kinds of plastic waste from those who go round to pick them.
This, he said the plastic waste would be turned into lots of needed products like mats, plastic bowls, dustbins, and a lot things to create more direct and indirect jobs for the people.
