The leadership of the National Democrstic Congress, NDC last Saturday thronged the residence of the late Alhaji Ganiwu Musah who passed away a week ago to observe his one week Moslem prayers (Adua) .
The late Alhaji Ganiwu was the Commander of operations at the NDC party’s Headquarters in Accra.
Until his death, Alhaji Ganiwu was in charge of security at the party’s Headquarters ensuring the safety of party officials and all those who visit the party office.
Speaking on behalf of the party, the General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia eurogised the late Ganiwu for his hard work and dedication to the progress of the party.
According to Mr. Asiedu Nketia, the late Ganiwu died serving the party, country and religion respectively .
He recounted an instance where the Ghana police personnel attacked and beat the late Ganiwu to pulp.
Though Mr. Asiedu Nketia could not confirmed the cause of Ganiwu’s death but suspected the beatings could lead to his death.
Late Alhaji Ganiwu prior to his short illness and subsequent death, complained of severe pains in his head and parts of his body after the police molested (manhandled) him.
The late Alhaji Ganiwu died at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Ridge in Accra, after a short illness.
