Abola Piam We, a Royal Dynasty of the Ga State in the Greater Accra Region has inaugurated its Special Council that will handle all disputes in their jurisdiction.
The Special Council is mandated to take charge of all properties of Nii Tackie Oblie family and settle all disputes within the Ga State.
A number of Committees were setup under the Special Council to assist the council in running the Abola Piam We.
As part of its mandate, the Special Council is expected to settle out of court of matters relating to especially land litigations to bring ever lasting solutions to all land litigation in the jurisdiction.
Speaking at the maiden inaugural ceremony, the chairman of the Council, Nii Oblie Ayittey Anumle Oyanka I, explained that the Council would assist in solving all bothering matter and any quickly tackle to prevent any potential matters with tendency to divide them.
He noted that, state institutions like the court have challenges in resolving land disputes which are brought before. Nii indicated that it takes the court lots of time or years to land litigations which could last few days if a Council like the one inaugurated should handle despite properly.
He also indicated the Special Council would collaborate with Regional House of Chiefs, Ga Traditional Council, the High and the Lower Courts, the Property Fraud Office of the Ghana Police Service and the local police stations in discharging its mandate.
He hinted the media that under normal circumstances, the is not supposed to handle land issues, but due greed such cases are rush for court to resolve, and this end up lasting for years before they are settled.
Nii Oyanka Anumle I, Oblieman-Opa Mantse assured that when things are done right, the Council which he chairs shall see to it that Abola Piam We is rebuilt and on all their lands doted across the Greater Accra Region have family houses on them.
On his part, the chief of the Council, Isaac Mettle Ofei was confident that the Council would deliver justice to the Ga State. He indicated their commitment to retrieve all lands and properties that are in the wrong hands.
He opined that the Council would not side with illegality and would ensure Greater Accra lands becomes litigation free.
Abdul Razak Tackie Oblie, one of the eldest of Nii Tackie Oblie family and who doubles as the financial secretary for the council was very optimistic the Council would bring solutions to the Ga state.
