The ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP has unleash their hoodlums on the Hon Member of Parliament (MP) for Odododiodoo Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye.
These NPP hoodlums who claimed to be National Security personnel yesterday evening seriously attacked the Honourable member of Parliament and former Youth and Sports Minister unprovocatively, but he managed to flee from his assailants.
The MP granting an interview with one of the based radio stations, Power fm, said “I went to the James Town Police station to receive briefing on why one of my aides was detained when the guys attacked me.”
”….the guys who attacked me slapped me from behind and hit me severally on my chest at the Police station”. Nii Lante Vanderpuye recounted his ordeal. He further stated the attackers also vandalized his Toyota Landcruiser Vehicle.
“I was on Power FM last night for a programme but he (my aide) had not been released so I said on radio that I will be there after the programme”, he also posited.
According to him, when he got there the issue had been handed to the officers who were on night duty and he had to call the Commander and as soon as he moved out to call the commander he was attacked.
The former Youth and Sports Minister and MP for Odododiodio Constituency, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye indicated his attackers claimed they were National Security Operatives when they approached him.
