NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) National Organizer, Joseph Yamin, has officially filed his nomination to contest for a second term in office in the party’s upcoming national executive elections.

Mr. Yamin made this known at a joint press conference with the party’s Deputy General Secretary, Mustapha Gbande, in Accra.
He disclosed that he picked his nomination forms on Monday, fulfilled the required financial obligations and successfully filed to contest for re-election.
Mr. Yamin expressed confidence in retaining his position, which is one of the key offices in the NDC’s national leadership structure. He said he enjoys the trust and support of President John Dramani Mahama and the party’s leadership.
He added that he was waiting for nominations to close at 5 p.m. on the day of the announcement to know the other contenders, but stressed that he was fully prepared for the contest.
Mr. Yamin also disclosed that his colleague, Mr. Gbande, had picked nomination forms to contest for a substantive executive position in the party.
He described their joint press conference as unprecedented, saying it demonstrated the unity and strong working relationship among the party’s national officers.

On the performance of the NDC government, Mr. Yamin said the administration had improved the country’s economic situation, moving Ghana away from severe economic difficulties towards stability and creating a more favourable environment for businesses.
He attributed his performance as National Organizer partly to his experience as a former Regional Secretary, explaining that quarterly review meetings during his previous role helped strengthen his leadership, planning and organisational skills.
Mr. Yamin expressed optimism about his chances in the upcoming elections and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the party’s structures and mobilising its grassroots supporters.
