THE MEMBER of Parliament (MP) for Nkwanta South, Hon. Geoffrey Kini, has supported more than 300 fresh Senior High School (SHS) students in the municipality with essential school materials as part of efforts to promote education and restore confidence in the local education system.

The items, including mattresses and school trunks, were presented to the beneficiaries at the Nkwanta South Municipal Education premises.
The initiative comes at a time when recent clashes in parts of Nkwanta South had affected school enrolment, with some parents becoming reluctant to send their children to schools in the area.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Kini assured parents and guardians that peace and security had been restored and urged them to confidently send their children to schools in the municipality.
He said the support was intended to ease the financial burden on parents, particularly families who may struggle to provide basic boarding requirements for their children.

Hon. Kini also urged the beneficiaries to take their education seriously and make good use of the opportunity available to them.
He reminded them that they are future leaders and encouraged them to remain focused, disciplined and committed to their studies.
The donation was welcomed by parents, school authorities and community leaders, who expressed appreciation to the MP for supporting students and contributing to efforts to rebuild confidence in education within the municipality.

They also commended the peace-building efforts in the area, stressing the importance of a stable environment for children to attend school and pursue their education without fear.
The programme was attended by parents, education officials, community leaders and other stakeholders.
