THE CHAIRMAN of the Ghana Pilgrims Affairs Office, Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, has urged Ghanaian pilgrims travelling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj to remain patient, united and cooperative throughout the pilgrimage.
Addressing the first batch of pilgrims in Accra before their departure, Alhaji Tanko Ibrahim reminded them that challenges have always been part of the Hajj journey since the time of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
He said every pilgrim is likely to face one difficulty or another during the spiritual exercise, regardless of wealth or social status, stressing that patience and understanding are essential in overcoming such challenges.
According to him, many misunderstandings and problems can easily be resolved when pilgrims show tolerance and support for one another.
“We should learn to endure and support one another. If we remain patient, many misunderstandings and difficulties will pass with time,” he stated.
The Chairman also prayed for Allah’s protection and safe journey for all Ghanaian pilgrims and officials travelling to Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage.
He assured the pilgrims that the leadership of the Pilgrims Affairs Office remains committed to addressing their concerns and resolving challenges that may arise during the Hajj. Alhaji Tanko Ibrahim noted that the success of the Hajj operation depends largely on the cooperation of the pilgrims themselves.
He said officials are working tirelessly both in Ghana and Saudi Arabia to ensure a smooth and successful pilgrimage for all Ghanaian pilgrims.
“At times, I stay in the office for 24 hours attending to issues. In Saudi Arabia too, we will remain with you and work continuously to address every challenge within our capacity,” he said.

He, however, acknowledged that some situations may be beyond the control of officials, adding that inability to resolve certain issues should not be seen as negligence. The Chairman also commended the women participating in the pilgrimage, describing them as mothers and respected figures who deserve care and support.
He further emphasized that leadership is a responsibility entrusted by Allah and should never be regarded as superiority over others. The address ended with prayers for peace, successful Hajj performance and the safe return of all Ghanaian pilgrims.
