THE OVERLORD of the Buipe Traditional Area, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Accra.

The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration to promote agricultural development in the Savannah Region.
The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and brought together traditional leadership and officials from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
It focused on shared efforts to improve food production, support farmers, and enhance rural livelihoods.
A key purpose of the visit was for Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II to formally introduce the Savannah Farmers Brigade. The initiative was formed by the Overlord to organize farmers, especially the youth, and promote modern and sustainable farming practices.
During the engagement, discussions were held on possible partnerships between the Ministry and the Savannah Farmers Brigade. Areas explored included technical support, access to agricultural expertise, climate-smart farming and farmer capacity building.

Hon. Eric Opoku welcomed the initiative and praised the Buipewura for his proactive leadership. He emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to working with traditional authorities to advance agriculture and improve food security across the country.
The Minister noted that initiatives driven by community leaders play an important role in achieving sustainable agricultural growth. He assured the Overlord of the Ministry’s readiness to support efforts that align with national agricultural goals.
The meeting ended with a mutual understanding to continue dialogue and collaboration. Both parties expressed optimism that the partnership would lead to empowered farmers, increased productivity, and improved livelihoods in the Savannah Region.
