AS PART of an official visit to Ghana, the Vice President of the Republic of Colombia, H.E. Madam Francia Elena Márquez Mina, toured key cultural and historical sites in the country.
She was warmly received by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Yussif Jajah, who represented the Sector Minister, Hon. Dzifa Abla Gomashie.

The visit included a guided tour of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum, one of Ghana’s most important cultural and tourism landmarks.

During the tour, the delegation was taken through the museum, which houses personal items, photographs, and historical records of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President and a leading figure in Africa’s independence struggle. The visit highlighted Ghana’s efforts to preserve its national heritage for future generations.
Hon. Yussif Jajah used the occasion to reaffirm the Ministry’s commitment to promoting cultural diplomacy and strengthening international cooperation through tourism and the creative arts.
He noted that cultural heritage sites like the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park play a vital role in educating visitors and boosting the country’s tourism industry.

The visit also provided an opportunity for both countries to explore ways of deepening cooperation in culture, tourism, and creative industries. It further strengthened the existing bilateral relations between Ghana and Colombia, while underscoring the importance of cultural tourism in national development.
