Nat’l Tymes News Desk
THE National Tymes joins the people of South Tongu, the Volta Region, and the entire communications fraternity in mourning the heartbreaking loss of Mr. Nicholas Yao Aklorbortu, the distinguished Constituency Communications Officer of South Tongu.
His passing has cast a deep shadow of grief across the region, for Nicholas was more than a Party communicator—he was a voice of clarity, conviction, and unwavering dedication. His work resonated far beyond political lines; he embodied service, loyalty, and community.
On Sunday, a delegation from the Volta Regional Communications Directorate, led by Regional Communications Officer Mr. Kafui Sorkpa Agbleze, accompanied by Deputy Regional Communications Officer Mr. Del Bright Kugbadzor and the Presiding Member for the Akatsi North District Assembly, Hon. Patrick Ahiabu, visited the home of the bereaved family.
Their mission was solemn yet necessary: to convey the heartfelt condolences of the Regional Chairman, Regional Executives, the entire Regional Communications Team, and the NDC family to the wife, children, parents, siblings, and the Aklorbortu family.
During the visit, the Regional Communications Officer assured the family of the Party’s full support in this moment of deep pain. He further pledged the commitment of the Directorate to participate in the first family meeting that will outline funeral arrangements and final rites for the late communicator.
Nicholas Yao Aklorbortu was a man of purpose and passion—a communicator who spoke with courage, worked with diligence, and stood firm in his beliefs. His tireless efforts in amplifying developmental issues and articulating the aspirations of the South Tongu Constituency earned him respect from colleagues, leaders, and the community he served with pride.
His absence leaves a void that words can barely fill.

As the Volta Regional Communications Team, the South Tongu Constituency Executive Committee, well-wishers, and the general public grieve this monumental loss, National Tymes urges all to uphold the family in prayers and surround them with unity, love, and strength.
Funeral arrangements will be announced after the family’s first official meeting.
May the gentle soul of Nicholas Yao Aklorbortu rest in perfect peace.
May the Almighty comfort his family and grant them fortitude in this difficult hour.
