THE MEMBER of Parliament for Ayawaso North, Hon. Yussif Jajah, has cut sod for the construction of the Ayawaso North Inner Drains, marking a major step toward improving sanitation and reducing flooding in the constituency.
The project, which forms part of efforts to upgrade the area’s drainage system, is expected to bring long-term relief to residents who have for many years battled with poor water flow and frequent flooding during rainy seasons.
The new inner drains will help channel storm water more effectively and protect homes, businesses, and roads from damage.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Jajah expressed profound gratitude to Allah for a successful event and thanked all stakeholders who played a role in making the project possible.
He praised the Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon. Shaibu Suyini, for representing the sector minister, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, at the ceremony.
He also commended the Municipal Chief Executive, the Presiding Member, and Assembly Members for their continuous support and collaboration, noting that the project reflects the shared commitment of local leaders to improve the lives of residents.

Hon. Jajah further extended appreciation to the Ayawaso North NDC constituency executives and party members for their encouragement, and also acknowledged the presence of the NPP constituency executives, describing their participation as a sign of unity and development above partisan politics.
He expressed special gratitude to the municipal council of chiefs, imams, and opinion leaders for their guidance and blessings, stressing that their involvement strengthens community ownership of the project.

Residents who attended the ceremony welcomed the project with excitement, saying it will help solve long-standing drainage challenges in the area.
