
THE DEPUTY Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, has applauded the invaluable contributions of queenmothers in promoting peace, unity, and effective traditional governance in Ghana.
She made these remarks when a delegation from the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Council, led by His Gracious Majesty Oseadeeyo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, paid a courtesy call on her at the Ministry in Accra.

Hon. Sowah highlighted the unique role queenmothers play in maintaining social harmony and supporting community development. She stressed that their wisdom and leadership are vital to the growth of traditional institutions and the nation as a whole.
The Deputy Minister reiterated on the Ministry’s commitment to deepening collaboration with traditional leaders across the country. She described chiefs and queenmothers as custodians of Ghana’s rich culture and heritage, and essential partners in governance and local development.


The visit ended with a mutual call for continuous engagement to strengthen traditional leadership structures and national unity.
