MEMBER of Parliament for Ada Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Hon. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe Ghanza, has pledged her full support for this year’s Ada Asafotufiami Festival, assuring constituents and guests of a peaceful and successful celebration.
The 88th edition of the historic festival, which runs from August 1 to 8, commemorates the bravery of the Ada ancestors in war and celebrates the unity and resilience of the Ada people.

Organizers are targeting local and international tourists, as well as high-profile dignitaries, including Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Bagbin and His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama.
Ahead of the festivities, a delegation of chiefs, queen mothers, and opinion leaders visited Hon. Doyoe Cudjoe in Parliament to congratulate her on her re-election for a fourth term and to discuss preparations for the event.

The MP welcomed the delegation warmly and reiterated her usual commitment to the cultural heritage of Ada Traditional Area. She promised to work with security agencies to ensure safety during the celebrations, and issued a strong warning to individuals planning to disrupt the peace.
The Queen of the Royal Adibiawe Traditional Area and President of the Ada Queen Mothers Consortium, Naana Adiki Manyeyo Adi I, encouraged young women to dress modestly throughout the celebrations, respecting the cultural values of the Ada people.

Manklalo of Ada, Nene Agudey Obikyere III, urged all natives and the general public to participate in this year’s festival; he promised a lineup of exciting and meaningful events.
He also used the opportunity to dispel rumours of a feud between himself and the MP, saying the unity of Ada remains intact.

All is set for the 2024 Asafotufiami Festival to be a celebration of culture, unity, and pride.
