THE MANAGING Director of the Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC), Dr. Wisdom Kofi Dogbey, is currently in London spearheading high-level engagements aimed at enhancing Ghana’s presence and influence in the global cocoa industry.

Dr. Dogbey is representing CMC at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and council meeting of the Federation of Cocoa Commerce (FCC), where industry leaders are charting the course for the future of cocoa trade. He is also participating in the board meeting of CMC UK, a key subsidiary driving the company’s international operations.
As part of his visit, Dr. Dogbey has held a series of strategic meetings with cocoa buyers and stakeholders across the UK. These engagements go beyond commerce – focusing on strengthening partnerships that prioritize sustainability, innovation, and long-term value creation.
“Our goal is to build enduring relationships that benefit both sides,” Dr. Dogbey stated. “We’re looking at how we can improve quality, enhance delivery, and embed sustainable practices across the value chain.”
These international engagements are a critical part of CMC’s vision to become a globally competitive cocoa powerhouse. Dr. Dogbey highlighted that this vision supports the broader economic agenda of COCOBOD and aligns with Ghana’s national efforts toward recovery and growth under the leadership of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama and the Ministry of Finance.

“By forging stronger ties with our international partners, we are not only boosting CMC’s performance but also reinforcing Ghana’s position in the global cocoa market,” he emphasized.
Key discussions during the FCC sessions have revolved around innovative cocoa processing technologies, quality assurance and ethical sourcing.
Dr. Dogbey reaffirmed CMC’s commitment to sustainable trade practices and to empowering local producers as a way to drive inclusive growth. “This is about creating a resilient ecosystem where everyone benefits – from the farmer to the final consumer,” he said.
The meetings have also opened doors for potential collaborations, including joint ventures and product development initiatives that could broaden CMC’s market reach. “We are optimistic about the opportunities ahead,” Dr. Dogbey noted. “With the right partnerships, we can innovate and stay competitive in a rapidly evolving industry.”
As CMC continues to navigate the complexities of the international cocoa trade, Dr. Dogbey remains committed to delivering on the company’s mandate to support Ghana’s economic development. “Together, we are building a future-focused cocoa sector that brings prosperity not just today but for generations to come,” he concluded.
The ongoing engagements in London mark a significant milestone in CMC’s global strategy – underscoring the company’s dedication to sustainable growth, international collaboration and national economic transformation.
