
THE AYAWASO East Municipal Assembly has initiated a comprehensive stakeholder engagement to develop its 2026–2029 Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP).
The engagement aims to incorporate the voices of local residents into the municipality’s development agenda.
Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Ibrahim, affectionately known as Mallam Fari, emphasized the importance of community input in shaping the municipality’s future.


He stated that, in accordance with the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), development priorities should reflect the aspirations and needs of the people.
At the engagement, participants were divided into groups based on their electoral areas to identify pressing issues. Common concerns included sanitation challenges, road congestion caused by market activities, malfunctioning streetlights, and incomplete infrastructure projects.

The Assembly showcased completed and ongoing projects from the past four years, highlighting efforts in education, health, road development, and support for persons with disabilities. However, some projects remain unfinished, underscoring the need for continued community involvement and feedback.
In an interview with Nationaltymes.com, Hon. Ibrahim aka Mallam Fari assured residents that their concerns would be addressed in the forthcoming development plan.


He reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to transparency and collaboration, aiming to create a development blueprint that truly represents the community’s needs.
He told Nationaltymes.com that, this stakeholder engagement aligns with the Assembly’s mission to mobilize resources and improve socio-economic infrastructure in collaboration with key stakeholders, enhancing the welfare of the people in the municipality.
