THE GHANA Hajj Board has announced the commencement of mandatory medical screening for all prospective pilgrims for Hajj 2027.
The exercise is scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 3, 2026, and will subsequently be extended to other selected medical screening centres across the country in the coming days and weeks.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG), Communications Directorate, on behalf of the Chairman, Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, and members of the Hajj Board.
According to the statement, every prospective pilgrim is required to pay GH¢650 for the medical screening.
The Board assured prospective pilgrims that their personal medical information, including their medical fitness status and records, would be treated with the utmost privacy and confidentiality, Insha Allah.
The Board has therefore urged all prospective pilgrims, particularly Ghanaian Muslims planning to perform Hajj 2027, to take note of the exercise and participate in the mandatory screening.
It further appealed to the public, Muslim leaders and other stakeholders to help circulate the information widely to ensure that prospective pilgrims are adequately informed and that preparations for Hajj 2027 proceed smoothly.
