THE Women’s Organizer for Ningo-Prampram, Hajia Rashidatu Mahama Affainie, has expressed concern over what she describes as the low visibility of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the ongoing campaign activities ahead of the Ayawaso East Constituency by-election scheduled for March 3, 2026.

In an interview with Nationaltymes.com, Hajia Rashida (aka Hajia Rash) said her monitoring of activities on the ground shows a strong and vibrant presence of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), while the NPP appears largely absent from the constituency.

She compared the situation to the Akwatia Constituency by-election held last year, where both major political parties campaigned vigorously. According to her, the NPP made strong efforts to retain the seat, while the NDC worked tirelessly to win it back, eventually emerging victorious.

“In Ayawaso East, the NDC is fully on the ground, engaging the grassroots and sharing its message of hope and development. The NPP, however, is nowhere to be seen,” she stated.
Hajia Rashida further criticized the NPP’s track record in government, indicating that the party often seeks power for its own benefit rather than for the welfare of the people.

According to her, the NPP makes what she described as “sweet but unrealistic promises” during campaigns, only to disappoint Ghanaians when given the mandate to govern. She posited that whenever the NPP assumes office, ordinary citizens suffer under policies that, in her view, prioritize the interests of a few over the needs of the majority.

“It always takes the NDC to step in and correct the challenges created under NPP administrations,” she asserted.
Despite her criticism of the opposition party, Hajia Rashida expressed strong optimism about the NDC’s chances in the Ayawaso East by-election. She said the party is not only focused on winning but is determined to secure a decisive victory that reflects the confidence of the people.

She therefore urged constituents to come out in large numbers on election day, Tuesday and vote massively for the NDC Candidate Baba Jamal, emphasizing that the party remains committed to inclusive development, job creation, and improving living standards.

“Baba Jamal and the NDC would put the people first and work to ensure that development reaches every community,” she said, calling on voters to support what she described as a people-centered agenda.
