THE DEPUTY Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Yussif Jajah, has represented the sector minister, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, in presenting and defending the Ministry’s 2026 budget estimates before Parliament.

Hon. Jajah led officials from the Ministry and its key agencies, including the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), the National Commission on Culture (NCC), the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB), and the Creative Arts Agency, to explain how funds allocated to the sector will be used in the coming year.
During the budget defence, the Deputy Minister highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to boosting tourism, preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage and promoting the creative arts industry as a major driver of economic growth.

He explained that the Ministry intends to invest more in tourist sites, improve infrastructure, and support creative artists to enhance local and international tourism.
Hon. Jajah also emphasized the importance of collaboration between government agencies and private sector players to make Ghana a preferred travel destination.
He noted that the Ministry is working on initiatives to improve hospitality standards, strengthen domestic tourism, and create more job opportunities for young people in the creative arts sector.


Members of Parliament raised questions on funding for cultural festivals, creative arts education, digital archiving of Ghana’s heritage, and the maintenance of tourist attractions.
The Deputy Minister responded by assuring Parliament that the Ministry is committed to transparency, accountability, and effective use of public funds.
The budget defence marks a key step in securing the resources needed for the Ministry to implement its programmes for 2026.
