THE NDC Youth Force has strongly criticized former Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam over comments he made about the government’s management of the energy sector.
In a statement signed by Kuncham George of the NDC Youth Force Communication Bureau, the group noted that Dr. Amin Adam had suggested the country was slipping back into “dumsor.” They dismissed the claim as baseless and unfair.
The statement, released on 17th November 2025, described Dr. Amin Adam’s remarks as “unfortunate and laughable,” arguing that he has no moral authority to accuse anyone of poor performance.
The youth group said Ghanaians have not forgotten the economic challenges experienced under the NPP administration, particularly when Dr. Amin Adam served as a key member of the government.
The NDC Youth Force accused the former minister and the NPP government of leading Ghana into heavy debt, high inflation, and what they described as the worst economic crisis in decades. They also blamed the previous administration for sending the country back into an IMF programme and imposing severe hardship on citizens.
The group praised current Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson for what they called intelligent, competent, and steady leadership. They said Dr. Ato Forson is restoring confidence in the economy without relying on what they described as the “directionless” economic management style of the past government.
They advised Dr. Amin Adam to “sit down, observe, and learn” from the current minister rather than engaging in political attacks.

According to the group, Ghana’s youth are now more informed and will not allow former officials to rewrite the nation’s economic history.
The NDC Youth Force says it remains committed to supporting the government’s efforts to stabilize the economy and improve the lives of Ghanaians.
