MEMBER of Parliament for Salaga South and Vice Chair of Parliament’s Gender Committee, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has officially launched a new report on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) titled “Unequal Risk: SGBV among Youth and Persons with Disabilities.”

The launch took place during a webinar organised by SEND Ghana and brought attention to the growing concern of gender-based violence affecting vulnerable groups in the country.

Key Highlights from the Report Launch:

– Research and Collaboration: The report is the result of extensive research and partnerships focused on understanding the scope and impact of SGBV in Ghana.
– Policy Guidance: Findings are expected to inform national policies and programmes aimed at improving protection systems for affected groups.
– Call for Inclusive Protection: The report underscores the urgent need for inclusive measures that protect all, especially persons with disabilities and the youth.

Hon. Hajia Zuwera reiterated her commitment to fighting gender-based violence and promoting equality, stating that this report is a step forward in strengthening Ghana’s legal and policy framework for vulnerable populations.

The report is expected to serve as a valuable tool in shaping future interventions and ensuring that no group is left behind in the fight against SGBV.
