KOFI OFOSU NKANSAH, FORMER CEO, NEIP.

CEO of Ghana Digital Center, and a political activist, Dzifa Gunu, has taken a swipe at Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), over repeated claims that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration never dismissed public sector workers.

In a public post, Gunu questioned Mr. Nkansah’s credibility and pointed to a termination letter dated February 12, 2019, issued by the Human Resources Department of GCB Bank to an employee, as clear evidence that dismissals did occur under the NPP government.

The letter, signed by I. Kojo Essel Jnr., Head of Human Resources, notified the affected staff that their appointment had been terminated with immediate effect. It referenced Clause 29(a) of the Collective Agreement and instructed the employee to return all company property including laptops, ID cards, and manuals before departure.

A copy was also sent to the Managing Director and Chief Information Officer for further action.

“You have been very loud about claims that your government never dismissed workers, especially when criticizing others,” Gunu wrote. “But how do you explain this letter, which clearly shows someone being dismissed under your watch?”

He added that political honesty should not be selective and urged Mr. Nkansah to acknowledge the realities under his own party’s administration. “The day you choose to cure your hypocrisy will be the day truth — and perhaps salvation — finally finds you,” Gunu concluded.

The post has since stirred public debate online, with many calling for more transparency and consistency from public officials regarding employment practices.

As of now, Mr. Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has not responded to the claims.
