THE VICE President of the Republic, H.E. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has announced a major initiative to boost agriculture across Ghana.
Speaking at the 2025 Asogli Teza Festival in Ho, she revealed that over 5,000 graduates in Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences will soon be deployed to work directly with farmers nationwide.
The Vice President, who represented President John Dramani Mahama at the festival, said the move is aimed at improving agricultural productivity and supporting farmers with modern practices.

“These graduates will offer extension services, introduce innovative techniques, and help bridge the gap between research and actual farming,” she explained.
She also emphasized the government’s commitment to improving mechanization, irrigation, and storage systems to reduce post-harvest losses.
The event was hosted by His Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of Asogli State. Many dignitaries and citizens attended this year’s festival, which was praised for promoting culture, unity, tourism, and business in the Volta Region.

A representative of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council commended Togbe Afede XIV and the Asogli State for elevating the celebration, and reaffirmed the council’s dedication to partnering with Traditional Authorities.
“We are committed to transforming our rich cultural festivals into tools for economic growth and community development,” he stated. “Culture should not only be our pride but also a foundation for prosperity.”

The Asogli Teza Festival continues to serve as a platform to celebrate heritage while driving social and economic progress in the region.
