THE MEMBER of Parliament for Salaga-South Constituency, Hon Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahim has once again demonstrated her commitment to the welfare and cultural heritage of her constituents by actively supporting the 2025 Kafaba Damba Festival.

The festival, held under the esteemed leadership of Yiram Kafaba Wura Seidu Yahaya Nyenshumu at his palace in Kafaba, brought together indigenes from far and near in a colourful celebration of unity, tradition, and community pride.

As part of her support, the MP made a generous donation of food and essential items to aid the celebrations. Her contributions included 2 bags of 50kg rice, 10 bags of 25kg rice, one big yellow gallon of cooking oil, 5 cartons of mineral water, 5 cartons of assorted soft drinks, and a cash donation of GHC 3,000.

Receiving the items on behalf of the community, the Kafaba Wura expressed heartfelt appreciation to the MP.

“This gesture is not just about what she has brought,” he said, “but about the spirit in which it was given. It reflects true leadership, deep compassion, and a sincere respect for our customs. We thank her immensely for her continued support.”

Beyond her cultural engagement, the MP also took time to visit a free NHIS registration exercise she sponsored in collaboration with the District NHIS office. The initiative, organised as part of the Damba festivities, was aimed at expanding access to healthcare, especially for women and children in the constituency.

During her visit, many constituents were seen queued up to either renew or register for their National Health Insurance cards. By the end of the two-day exercise, 553 people had benefitted -372 renewals and 181 new registrations.

Mr. Mohammed Achulo, Public Relations Officer of the District NHIS office, praised the MP’s foresight and commitment to community health. He also announced that similar NHIS outreach programmes would be held in Makango and Kulaw during the 2025 Kulibu Wura’s Damba Festival and the Kulaw Homecoming.

The MP’s involvement in both the cultural and social dimensions of the festival was a clear demonstration of her inclusive leadership- one that embraces both tradition and progress, and places the well-being of her people at the heart of everything she does.
