THE NATIONAL Anti-Illegal Mining Operation Secretariat (NAIMOS) Task Force has intensified its crackdown on illegal mining in the Bole/Bamboi area of the Savannah Region, with a fresh operation resulting in the seizure of vehicles, equipment, and other materials used in galamsey.
This follows the arrest of 11 Chinese nationals on July 24, 2025, at one of the targeted sites. On July 25, the task force returned to the site to confiscate machinery linked to the illegal mining operations.

Seized Equipment Includes:
– 4 Shacman tipper trucks (GT 7048-25, GT 7035-25, GT 7265-25, GT 7243-25)
– 1 bulldozer (GT 5321-25)
– 1 low-bed trailer (GT 1128-21)
– 1 Forland small truck
– 28 assorted Richlion tires
– 10 drums of engine oil
– Motorbikes
The confiscated equipment and items have been transported to the NAIMOS Headquarters in Accra for further investigation and action.

The ongoing swoops form part of government’s broader effort to curb the destructive activities of illegal miners. Officials say these operations not only safeguard Ghana’s environment but also reinforce law enforcement’s resolve to end galamsey.
NAIMOS says it remains committed to dismantling illegal mining operations and will sustain pressure in affected areas across the country.
