PRESIDENT John Dramani Mahama’s administration has unveiled the 24-Hour Economy (24H+) Programme — a bold national blueprint designed to reposition Ghana as a non-stop productivity hub and a continental leader in exports and job creation. AS Ghana is officially preparing to operate around the clock.
Ahead of the official launch on Wednesday, July 3, 2025, the 24H+ Secretariat hosted a special pre-launch media briefing to equip journalists with an accurate and comprehensive understanding of the programme.
The session featured strategic presentations, interactive Q&As, and insights into implementation, ensuring the media plays an informed role in educating the public.

“This is not just about night shifts,” said Abdul-Nasser Alidu of the 24H+ Secretariat. “It’s a holistic re-engineering of how Ghana works — with structured shift systems, supply chain optimization, and sector-wide coordination to increase productivity and exports, particularly under AfCFTA.”
The programme offers generous incentives for businesses that adopt the 24H+ model, including up to 50% corporate income tax relief, accelerated utility access, export rebates, and off-budget infrastructure support.

More than just economic expansion, 24H+ is socially inclusive — targeting women, youth, SMEs, and rural communities — with safety and labour protections built in. The government projects 1.7 million new jobs within four years, with manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, and creative sectors taking the lead.
The pre-launch event signals government’s readiness to roll out the transformative programme and sets the tone for Wednesday’s historic launch.
