GADANGME Elites, in collaboration with the GaDangme Alliance for Change, has successfully hosted a groundbreaking GaDangme Youth Forum on the 24-Hour Economy, under the theme “Creating Wealth for the GaDangme Youth.”

Held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the event brought together traditional leaders, youth groups and student unions from across the GaDangme States, as well as participants from various tertiary institutions in Ghana.

The forum served as a strategic platform to educate and empower the GaDangme youth to harness the opportunities presented by the Government’s ambitious 24-Hour Economy Policy.

Delivering a message on behalf of the Special Guest of Honour, Nii Ayi Bonte II, Gbese Mantse and Adonten of the Ga State, Nii Ayikwei Kakalor, Divisional Chief of Kokomlemle, lauded the initiative. He urged the youth to seize the economic prospects that the 24-hour economy presents, emphasizing that embracing it could significantly reduce unemployment and boost economic independence within the GaDangme community.

Speaking at the event, Nii Teinor Ashigente II of Teinor We, OSU, challenged the government to back its policy with action, stressing the need for effective implementation. He encouraged the youth to shun unproductive lifestyles and instead focus on skill development and sustainable livelihoods.

A key highlight was an insightful presentation by Dr. Ishmael Amanor Dodoo, Head of Innovative Finance, Partnerships and Markets at the 24-Hour Economy Office. Dr. Dodoo broke down the policy’s framework, spotlighting modules like industrial transformation, entrepreneurship support, agribusiness, digital innovation, and skills training.

He described the 24-hour economy as a “game-changer” that can unlock wealth and create sustainable job opportunities for the GaDangme youth, urging them to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset.

In a passionate closing, Nuumo Gbelenfo, OSU Gua Wulomo, called on young people to actively embrace the policy while steering clear of social vices. He also appealed to traditional authorities to stop the rampant sale of ancestral lands and rather invest these lands into profitable ventures that would benefit future generations.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Oko Oniku Henry, President of the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) – Tema Metro, expressed gratitude to the organizers, speakers, traditional leaders and participants. He stressed that such forums are crucial in bridging the gap between government policies and the practical economic empowerment of the youth.

This historic forum not only inspired and informed participants but also signaled the collective determination of the GaDangme leadership and youth to fully leverage national policies for community growth and economic transformation.
