Recent happenings in the South Tongu Constituency particularly relating to appointments
In recent times, the Constituency has been inundated with varied discussions on District level appointments. Topical among these is the appointment of the District NADMO Director.
While we have taken the opportunity to explain happenings around this issue, we have observed that the issue remains topical on both radio (in and outside the Constituency) and social media. The Constituency Chairman, Mr. Michael Tsikudo, directs that all members of our Party should remain calm while finality is brought to bear on the matter.
Indeed, months ago, names of interested Party folks were submitted for consideration for appointment to headship of various district level positions. It is also a fact that some of these recommended persons have begun working in their respective positions. It is true that we penciled Mr. Michael Gati, the hardworking and dedicated Constituency Organiser, for the Director of NADMO position.
Subsequent to this, issues of eligibility criteria crippled in, which hitherto was unavailable at the time of making the recommendation. Same is happening with the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
We have extensively engaged our superiors, at both regional and national levels, on the urgent need to assign the position to Comrade Gati. National Party leaders including the Deputy General Secretary (Operations) and the National Organiser (who were in the Constituency a few months ago) are fully abreast with the issue and are still engaging relevant stakeholders in ensuring that hard work is rewarded.
Also, the top echelon of the Regional Party including the Regional Chairman were in the Constituency weeks ago to resolve the impasse relating to this issue and have remained committed to finding an amicable solution.
Unfortunately, the appointing authorities, NADMO headquarters, seems intransigent in their resolve. Just last week, this issue was brought to the attention of the National Chairman. So, with the assurances from our superiors, we remain hopeful that our request will be yielded to boost the morale of all hard working Party members.
We wish to assure all branch executives and party members that the party will strive to ensure that all members who deserve to serve in any position are given the due recognition.

As we can all attest to, the administration of H.E John Mahama is still being formed and already there are enormous great happenings in the Constituency and the whole country with significant prospects of better things ahead. Various programmes are being rolled out and opportunities are being created for all.
We would like to use this opportunity to call on all members and the general public to support the government to create the Ghana we all want, together. That Ghana where no one will be left behind, that Ghana where we will all put to use our varied skills, abilities and potentials to develop our communities.
Thank you.
Dr. Lawer Egbenya
(NDC Constituency Secretary, South Tongu).
