THE 2025 KROWOR Municipal Reading Festival, held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, celebrated its third edition under the continued patronage of Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister for Gender and Member of Parliament for Krowor.
Since its inception in 2022, the festival has been a cornerstone initiative aimed at fostering a culture of reading among the youth/children in the Krowor Municipality.

Hon. Naa Momo Lartey, a staunch advocate for literacy, emphasized the transformative power of reading in her address: “Literacy is the cornerstone of a thriving and enlightened society. Every child in Krowor deserves the opportunity to grow intellectually and unlock their full potential through access to quality literacy programmes.”

Although unable to attend this year’s festival in person, Hon. Naa Momo expressed her gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ing. Paul Afotey Quaye, who represented both the Presidency and the Ministry of Gender at the event.
She noted that his presence underscored the collective commitment of leadership at both local and national levels to nurturing the academic growth of young learners.

The festival featured a series of engaging activities designed to ignite curiosity, cultivate critical thinking, and inspire a lifelong love for reading among children.
Hon. Naa Momo reaffirmed her dedication to supporting such initiatives, stating, “I remain deeply committed to investing in the intellectual development of our future leaders and will continue to support initiatives that shape a literate, confident, and empowered generation in Krowor.”

The Krowor Municipal Reading Festival continues to serve as a vital platform for promoting literacy and educational development within the community, reflecting the broader national agenda of empowering youth through education.
