IN A DECISIVE move to address persistent water supply challenges in Sogakope and its environs, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of South Tongu, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, has secured a commitment from infrastructure firm LESICO to expedite critical pipeline upgrades.
During a late-night meeting on May 14, 2025, Hon. Dzeklo engaged directly with LESICO’s Project Manager and Senior Engineer, Ing. Yariv Brosh, to chart a sustainable path forward. The discussions culminated in LESICO reaffirming its March 2022 cost estimate to complete vital pipeline enhancements.
Demonstrating collaborative governance, Hon. Dzeklo immediately contacted the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, who joined the dialogue via phone to underscore the government’s prioritization of the project.
Moved by the officials’ dedication, LESICO pledged to complete the project within six months, contingent on timely fulfillment of obligations by the Government of Ghana and the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).
Key components of the plan include extending pipelines from Agordome to Sogakope and replacing outdated 6-inch pipes with 12- or 24-inch lines to enhance water flow capacity. LESICO further committed to addressing existing service line upgrades once contractual and logistical frameworks are finalized.

Hon. Victoria Dzeklo expressed optimism about the breakthrough, stating, “This partnership reflects our unwavering commitment to securing reliable water access for our communities. We urge all stakeholders to act swiftly to ensure timely project delivery.”
Ing. Brosh affirmed LESICO’s readiness, noting, “We stand prepared to mobilize resources and expertise to resolve this challenge, in alignment with the agreed terms.”
The South Tongu Municipal Assembly assures residents of sustained collaboration with partners to achieve lasting solutions for water security.
