
THE FREE Zone Association has engaged the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, in a strategic meeting to strengthen collaboration and enhance the effectiveness of Ghana’s free zones.
The visit, which took place on Friday, March 14, aimed to introduce the association’s executives to the newly appointed CEO and explore ways to support national development.
During the discussions, Dr. Awusi encouraged the association to take advantage of the government’s 24-hour economy initiative.
In response, the association proposed a meeting between the 24-hour economy secretariat and Free Zone enterprises to better understand the framework and maximize its benefits for their businesses.

Dr. Awusi reassured the delegation of the GFZA’s commitment to supporting their investments, highlighting the Authority’s dedicated aftercare unit, which provides assistance in resolving operational challenges.
The Free Zone Association’s delegation was led by its Chairman, Mr. Olivier Chassang, and included the Secretary, Ms. Amanda Gadzekpo, along with other key members.
Representing the GFZA were the Director of Corporate Affairs & PR, Mrs. Patience Agbleze Acorlor, and the Director of Administration, Mr. Ziblim Alhassan.

The meeting marks a significant step in fostering greater collaboration between the GFZA and Free Zone enterprises, with a shared vision of boosting Ghana’s industrial and economic growth.
