DALIVE-TORZIKPOTA Electoral Area Assembly Member, Hon. Peter Narteh, has commended the Nutekpor Naval Command for its unwavering commitment to education and national security.

Speaking at the Naval Training Command’s 2024 West African Soldiers Social Activities (WASSA) celebration, Narteh praised the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for going beyond their core duty of defense to support educational initiatives in local communities.
Highlighting the impact of the Naval Command’s outreach, he acknowledged the donations made by the Naval Officers’ Wives Association to Dalive-Torzikpota D.A. Primary School. “I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Command and the Association of Naval Officers’ Wives for their invaluable support. Their donations of dual desks, learning materials, and school uniforms have significantly improved learning conditions in my electoral area,” he said.

Security Services and 2024 Elections
Reflecting on the 2024 general elections, Narteh lauded the security services for their professionalism and discipline, despite isolated incidents of violence. He credited their commitment to intelligence-led operations for ensuring a peaceful transition of power on January 7, 2025.
“The success of the Ghana Armed Forces in safeguarding the elections was due to their sound intelligence and unwavering dedication. Despite challenges, there were no unauthorized operations or actions that could have led to crises. Their discipline ensured a largely peaceful election process,” he noted.

He urged the military to remain steadfast in upholding Ghana’s constitutional and democratic values, calling on personnel to continue their outstanding performance both locally and in peacekeeping missions abroad. “Let us keep the nation’s flag flying high through our commitment to excellence and security,” he concluded.
WASSA 2024: A Celebration of Unity and Culture.
The WASSA celebration, an annual event for military forces in West Africa, serves as a platform to honour cultural heritage, unity and camaraderie within the armed forces. The 2024 edition in Nutekpor brought together senior military officers, heads of security agencies, industry leaders and other distinguished guests.
The event featured cultural displays, competitions and festivities, reinforcing the bond between the military and civilian communities. It also provided an opportunity for the Naval Command to express gratitude to its personnel for their contributions to national peace and security.
