UNBLEMISHED GRAPEVINE information the Nationaltymes.com picked up indicated that Ghana’s Vice-President, Dr. Mahamoudu Bawumia has been paying delegates for the special conference a whopping amount of Ghc20, 000 each.
The source also hinted that Dr. Bawumia, a liar with international repute attempted to camp the delegates, but Professor Mike Okwei quickly foiled that move.
About nine hundred (900) delegates are expected to take part in the upcoming conference slated for Saturday, August 26, 2023 to elect five (5) out of ten (10) New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidates for onward primaries in November.
The primaries has been decentralised across the sixteen (16) regions of Ghana; and about 900 delegates, including Members of Parliament, Ministers of States; Metropolitan and Municipal District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) are part of this special conference.
Other delegates are National Executives of the party, Regional and Constituency Chairmen would also be voting to reduce the number of presidential aspirants to five (5). The idea is to prepare the 5 for the proper primaries in November to elect a Presidential Candidate who may have the capacity in the bid to match the high pedigrees of former President John Dramani Mahama of the NDC.
Some of the teams of the aspirants are accusing President Akufo-Addo of indirectly supporting his Vice-President, Dr. Mahamoudu Bawumia, although he claimed to remain neutral.
According to them, Mr. Akufo-Addo has charged delegates of his Eastern Region not to disappoint him by electing any other person rather than Dr. Bawumia.
