HARRY OTU HESSE, the NDC Constituency Chairman for Ayawaso Central in the Greater Accra Region has alluded that the only aspirant who could snatch the parliamentary seat for them is Madam Sophia Karen Ackuaku.

In an interview with Nationaltymes.com at “Wembley” during the on-going primaries in the area, Chairman Otu stated that all the five (5) aspirants qualified to lead the party in the constituency but they need someone who has the tendency to recover the seat for them this time around.
Prior to picking and filing of nomination forms, there was confusion amongst the constituency executives, some aspirants and delegates when Hon. Sophia Ackuaku declared her intention to contest for the position of parliamentary primary in the area.
Madam Sophia Ackuaku is the current Hon. Member of Parliament (MP) for the people of Obom-Dome-Abra Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
Chairman Otu Hesse indicated that so far the election was going on smoothly without any problem. The Police were also providing the needed security and managing the huge number of delegates who converged at Wembley park to cast their votes.

The other aspirants are Abdul-Rauf Tubazu, Abdul-Razak Yakubu, Theresa Mamle Gbekie and Rudolph Collingwoode-Williams.
Abdul-Rauf Tubazu is considered a contender who could give Sophia run for her money.

Chairman Otu prayed for the peaceful manner in which the election was going on continue to the end. He was quick to add that whoever emerges winner should be supported by other contestants to help recover the Ayawaso Central seat.
He posited that “if the Greater Accra NDC Regional Chairman chose to support one of the Presidential Aspirants, why can’t I also choose one of the PC aspirants in my Constituency?”

Chairman Harry Otu Hesse indicated that one out of the 5 aspirants will be elected to lead the party in Constituency in 2024. To this, he appealed to all the delegates and reiterated that unsuccessful aspirants should help rally behind the winner to enable them snatch the seat from the NPP inthe area this time around.
