A FORMER PRO-VICE Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Professor Joshua Alabi has picked the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flag-bearership nomination forms last Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
Prof. Alabi with the support of the 16 Regional Chairmen of the NDC across the country picked the form on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama who prior to the opening of the nomination, declared his intention to aspire for the party’s Flag-bearership position.
Mr. Mahama made declaration of intent following calls by Ghanaians for him to come for their rescue from ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by President Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Dr. Mahamoudu Bawumia.
Picking the forms, Prof. Joshua Alabi lamented on the kind of unprecedented incompetence exhibited by Nana Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration resulting in the collapse of the flourishing economy in 2017 and deep into the first quarter of 2018.
He explained that the NDC handed over a flamboyant economy to the NPP government but they messed it up and inflicted serious hardship on the masses who are crying every day.
Ghanaians are facing excruciating hardship they could not image as a result of deceit and mouth-watering promises made to them by the NPP leadership in the last two previous elections. Regretted Ghanaians today described the governing NPP as a “demonic” political entity to have rule Ghana in history.
Following the collapse Ghana’s economy that resulted in excruciating hardship, the promised that within two years, the NDC will turn things around to return the economy back on truck to ease hardship on Ghanaians.
On behalf of the team JM, Prof. Joshua Alabi iterated that when Ghana was in an economic quagmire in 1980 it was this same NDC with its men rescue the nation; and the party still have the men that will be led by President John Mahama to go back again to rescue crying masses from this economic mess in 2025.
He quick to promise other aspirants of fair contest but ran for their money. He call on them to quick join hands with President John Dramani Mahama to redeem Ghana.
A non-refundable fee of Ghc30,000 was paid for the nomination forms. The Elections Committee of the party Chaired by Lawyer Kakra Esamoah explained that every aspirant is expected to return with a completed 3 sets of nomination forms as given them; and one out of which would be given back to them as an evidence.
He indicated that the vetting committee would take over after closing of nomination to ensure qualified persons are allowed to contest for the NDC Flag-bearership position to go on the rescue mission to Ghana from the incompetent hands.
