Teachers of Odorgonno Senior High School in the Ga Central Municipality of the Greater Accra Region are in limbo as the Headmaster, Patrick Mensah of the school is discriminately transferring them.
These traumatised teachers are confused as to what will be their fate in this academic year, because their classes (periods) have been taken away from them.
Nationaltymes.com gathered from some teachers who hinted that the headmaster, Patrick Mensah told them plainly that he doesn’t like them based on tribal, religious and political reasons.
Based on Mr. Mensah’s inhumane reasons, he threatens to take the classes from some teachers; he always picks on them to accept a wrongdoing of which they’re innocent. To others, he accuses them falsely even to the extent of making false reports about them to the municipal and regional directorate of education.
There was a case involving over 40 teachers who were called to meet the the board of directors only to go there and be accused wrongly. That meeting ended abruptly as a result of teachers throwing tantrums and leading to near exchange of fists because of the false accusations.
Currently, these teachers are psychologically and emotionally affected, because they were not allocated classes to teach. All their attempts to seek clarifications from the school administrators proved futile as no one is willing to give any tangible explanation.
In less than 5 years in office, the headmaster, Patrick Mensah has become a thorn in the flesh of teachers of the Odorgonno Senior High School. Some teachers further narrated that their encounters with their new boss, Mr. Mensah is that of an unpleasant one.
Sources close to the school further hinted Nationaltymes.com that when the school reopened this January, the teachers of the Odorgonno Senior High School went to school well prepared to deliver only to be told that their classes have been taken from them by this headmaster and given to another teacher.
The source could testify that it was not the first time Mr. Mensah has been manhandling them in the school. It happens even in the middle of a semester or towards the end of it, but this time around, a large number of teachers were involved.
In their state of disappointment and anguish, some teachers left the school premises to their various homes whiles others sit idle just to be sure they are present at work so that their salaries are not affected. Mr. Mensah headmaster usually marks down absentee teachers with or without permission.
To be continued……..
