The Internal National Democratic Congress (NDC) Executive Elections of Women’s and Youth Wings Delegates conference slated for Saturday, 10th December 2022, has retained Dr. Hannah Louisa Bisiw and Lawyer George Opare Addo as the Women’s and Youth Organisers.
The Executive Elections – 2022 has about 797 NDC youth including Tertiary Institutions Education Network (TEIN), MPs and appointees with voting rights who joined their women wing and youth wing to elect who leads them at the youth and women’s fronts in the National level.
George Opare Addo Esq, the incumbent NDC Youth Organizer, had pulled 533 votes out of 1043 total votes cast with 2 rejected ballot to retain the party’s Youth Organiser position whilst Yaw Brogya Genfi had 508 votes making it a close contest.
Mr Opare Addo aka Pablo, NDC National Youth Organiser elect has a huge task ahead of him as he is expected to amend the seeming cracks in the party’s youth front prior to the elections; and at least woo all the NDC youth who defected to other political parties and are now struggling to recover from the huge disappointment they are still facing as a result of deceitful promises, and to retain others to forster unity and work harder to grab power for the party come 2024 general elections.
The Women’s wing also elected Dr. Hannah Louisa Bisiw with 433 votes out of 795 of 787 delegates to beat her close contender, Madam Margaret Ansei aka Maagoo who pulled 362 votes.
For the Deputy Youth Organiser position, two persons are required, Ruth Dela Sedoh, the incumbent, retained her position with 313 and Osman Abdulai Ayariga joined her with 373 votes cast. Other contestants had, Bright Honu 6; Abdul Kareem; Mohammed Sadik 61; Karemu Ahmed 51; Eric Dadson 150; Fredrick Owusu Asare 20; Obed Opintan 10 and Jude Elorm Sekle 65 votes respectively for the deputy position.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Women’s Organizer slot, where two are needed, Abigail Elorm Mensah polled 348 and Felicia Dzifa Tegah had 260 votes out of 787 valid votes cast with 10 rejected ballots. Other contenders who could not make it were Jessie Adam who had 21 and Hajia Alijatu Sulemana polled 158 respectively.
Sunday November 13, 2022, being the main Greater Accra Regional NDC Delegates Conference to elect the key leadership for the region is expected to climax the whole event with the party being the winner. This conference comes of at the Tema Sports Stadium.
