Twelve people were reported dead in a gory head on collusion accident involving a Kia Truck and a Tricycle at Nkaseim in the Asutifi South District of Ahafo Region, Ghana.
According to an eye-witness, a tricycle, popularly known as “Aboboyaa” in Ghana was carrying farmers numbering twelve (12) from Nkaseim Kwamo in the Asutifi South District of the Ahafo Region.
The horrific accident happened on Saturday night around 7:30pm in the rural town of “Ata ne Ata”, which is located on the Hwidiem-Goaso road.
The eye-witness told a group of pressmen that the tricycle-truck, Aboboyaa carrying these number of farmers veered into an oncoming Kia truck with a registration number AS 2149 – 22 on the other side of the road whilst trying to overtake another Aboboyaa loaded with bags of ginger.
Unfortunate for the victims, their Aboboyaa collided with the Kia truck which was also on top speed without load around “Ata ne Ata” on the Hwidiem-Goaso road in the Asutifi South District in the Ahafo Region where eleven of these farmers died instantly and one other died later at St. Elizabeth Catholic Hospital.
He said the overtaked tricycle-truck overturned and scattered all the bags of ginger and young guys between the ages of 11 and 17 who were with the load in the Aboboya and laying flat on the middle of the road brutally injured.
Some of these victims who were with ginger tricycle-truck are from Nkaseim, Kwamo, and Ohiatua and were returning from Obengkrom – a farming community in the Asutifi North District where they went to load the ginger in bags.
