AYAWASO North branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has finally elected Alhaji Abdul-Manaf Walker as their new chairman going into the 2024 general elections.
The newly elected Ayawaso North NDC Constituency Chairman has expressed his gratitude to all the 1182 delegates for reposing confidence and electing him to lead them in the next four year term.
In an interview with Nationaltymes.com a day after the conference, Alhaji Walker also commended all other elected members, including those who retained their various respective positions.
He indicated that following the confidence the delegates have in making their choice of change to vote for them demands that they work harder to retain their Parliamentary Seat for the Constituency by increasing the votes for the NDC and the former President John Dramani Mahama to return to Flag-Staff (Jubilee) House in 2025.
To this effect, Alhaji Abdul-Manaf Walker explained that though it was a contest amongst about 43 dedicated NDC persons, over one position or the other and only one person was needed to lead with their deputies, the most important thing was that nobody but the NDC has won; hence, the need for unity to face the common political enemy, the NPP.
“I call on all my colleagues NDC brethren who contested various positions to come onboard in helping win the 2024 general elections for our dear party as well as help the NDC to catapult President John Dramani Mahama to the Flag-Staff (Jubilee) House and to also retain our MP seat, so that we can have more seats over others”, Chairman Walker pleaded.
He also noted that elections 2024 would be very crucial due to the evil intentions of the ruling NPP government to retain power at all cost by rigging. He therefore appealed that “all those who have been offended should forgive and let go of their anger and rather pursue unity ahead of the 2024 general elections”.
“I also want to take this opportunity to thank the Electoral Commission (EC) and acknowledge our Police personnel who helped in ensuring peace during the election”, Chairman Walker commended.
He was quick to charge the security agencies to look at their current situation and vote for former President John Dramani Mahama so they could further alleviate the excruciating hardship in the country.
“A vote for the NDC and JM is a vote to rescue Ghana from the ruling NPP and their wickedness and unbearable hardships”, he stressed.
