In an interview with the Hon. MP, Naa Odoley Sowah indicated that, “Our Health, Our Wealth” and anybody who wants wealth must be healthy hence the screening clinic to ensure everyone comes for the check up to ensure he/she is fit to face the stressful system.
She noted that the stress in the country in this few years is such that it affects the health of many people, this prompted her to organise the health screening, especially for those who cannot afford to see the physician/doctor.
Many people wish they have the means to visit the hospital for check ups but the hardship in the country in recent times does not permit them.
The screening clinic took the patients through malaria test; BP check; sugar test; COVID – 19 Vaccination; HIV test; Tuberculosis screening and Weight/Height/BMI.
In an interview with Nationaltymes.com, the La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Director of Health Service, Dr. Adwoa Afriyie Wilson emphasized on the importance of sending healthcare to the doorstep of the people.
She indicated that such exercise makes early diagnosis for early management of health conditions. Dr. Afriyie stated that when ailments such as hypertension, and diabetes amongst others are detected early patients are put on medication in due time to prevent any further complications.
She cited that when one has hypertension the person is quickly put on anti-hypertensives ie. medication for blood pressure control. With this intervention the patient would not get stroke or develop eye problems, she added.
The La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Director of Health Service, Dr. Adwoa Afriyie was quick to add that they are working in collaboration with La Polytechnic so that when a patient has exceptional or serious case he/she would be referred.

Mrs. Afari Agama disclosed that most aged living in communities like the La Dade-Kotopon at times they unknowingly eat foods that would not hlp their system so with such screening coming closer to them would try to help them out.
One Senior Doctor Quansah formerly with the defunct La General Hospital and now with the La Polytechnic said the screening was so important that lots of those who they attended to were people who were suffering from BP and othe ailments. To this, he prays the exercise would not be a nine-days wonder, but would continue in the Constituency.
