January will be exactly 4 years after the Ayawaso West wougon by-elections, and subsequently 4 years since the national chairman was hauled by the Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo’s government to answer questions on an alleged tape. With him is my colleague Kwaku Boahen.
It looks like the media fancy playing alleged tapes involving the NDC but never will they even discuss that of the NPP even if it is coming from their own Anass.
Mr. Seidu Agongo and Dr. Opuni on the other hand have spent much longer years in court and will continue tomorrow. The 2, have struggled for fair trial many times by knocking on the doors of the appeals court and the supreme court.
Last year after the election declaration, a group of 30 people, were picked up at various parts of the capital without the allegation that, they were part of an NDC organised demo by just looking into their eyes. They were subsequently put before court and its been almost a year. On Tuesday, they will also appear before the judge one more time.
You may be wondering why I am bothering you this evening with cases pending in court this week.
I just want to bring to the attention of the saints in the Republic of Ghana, and those sitting on the fence unconcerned, like the 3 monkeys who see no evil, speak no evil nor hear no evil that Dr. Opuni has been “forced” to open his defence and will continue tomorrow God willing with a distinguished businessman Seidu Agongo.
It is also important to let the peace council, who have suddenly woken up with letters calling for calm to know that, this Tuesday, our national chairman will also continue with the 4 years marathon “of fishing or fact finding” by the state on his case in court. Same with the 30 others accused of demonstrating. I haven’t followed up with that of Hon. Sosu if that is also for this week.
Let’s know the NPP for who they are. They can push anyone to do their bidding.
NPP is not a party to negotiate, appeal, or play ball with. They have their own set of rules, they freely turn the goal posts to their favor, and will even have the audacity to invite judges to their caucus meetings to advice them before they go to the chamber to overturn Bagbin’s ruling. With them, everything is possible.
Never spare them when you have the power to. Ghanians wants to see what we can do when they entrust their destiny into our hands.
Victory may look like low hanging fruits, but it may elude us when we don’t appreciate and acknowledge what brought the fruits that low.
Use a sledge hammer if you may, it will just mean we will subject ourselves to that same standard when power eventually comes to us.
As a former advocate of father for all, I am also talking to myself. We can’t always be at the receiving end. Better days will surely come, let’s keep hope alive.
NDC, ALWAYS FOR THE PEOPLE; ALWAYS FOR DEVELOPMENT.
