The National Chief Imam of Ahlu-Sunnah Wal-Jamaah, Shaikh Umar Ibrahim Imam has acknowledged and iterated that the peaceful nature of former President John Dramani Mahama is what makes Ghana to continue to enjoy peace and coexist.
According to the Sheikh Umar Ibrahim, Mr. Dramani Mahama is tolerant, a properly natured leader who even in the face of atrocities in the last general elections where 8 people died painfully, he managed to ensure that Ghana did not burn because he wants to win the 2020 elections at all cost.
To this effect, Ghanaians are today still enjoying the peace and tranquility of former President Mahama’s leadership culture he continues to show in this country, even in opposition.
Former President John Dramani Mahama met the Chiefs and Imams from the Zango communities in the Greater Accra Region to climax his “Thank You Tour “. The chiefs and Imams were led by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osuman Nuhu Sharabuktu. JM saluted them for their prayers, prior to and after the fraud 2020 general elections held by the first time planted Electoral Commissioner, EC in Ghana’s history.
Ghana for the first time since 1992 has witnessed a shambolic elections which President Akufo-Addo deliberately removed the former EC Boss, Mrs. Charlotte Osei and planted his favourite EC Boss, Jean Adukwei Mensah and an NPP activist at the University of Ghana Legon, Dr. Bossman Asare as deputy with the soul aim to rig the 2020 elections.
In another, vein, former President John Dramani Mahama noted that Ghana is at a blink following the excruciating hardship on the people created by the country’s worse economic managers led by President Akufo-Addo.
To this, he appealed to the Chiefs and Imams and the people not to be despaired but to help ensure they give a massive support for the new NDC administration in 2024 to rescue Ghana from this on-going merse in the country.
He hinted that the NDC is going to reorganise from its grassroots level upward and come back to snatch power in 2025.
In a related development, former President John Mahama disclosed to the Muslim leaders last Wednesday, November 9, 2021 in Accra that the National Mosque was NDC’s baby.
It was noted that the National Mosque was started during President Rawlings’ through to President Prof. Atta-Mills regimes both of blessed memory and former President John Dramani Mahama’s era.
JM explained briefly that when he honoured the invitation of Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as the President of Ghana, he discussed the support to help ensure the construction and completion of the National Mosque Complex to the Glory of Allah for Ghana.
That why normally, he wouldn’t like to talk about it, all the same it was important the facts are known.
This intervention by former President Mahama came on back of the Muslim Umma in Ghana who at a point couldn’t build the mosque by themselves.
The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Nuhu Osuman Sharabuktu prayed fervently for President John Dramani Mahama for long life and Allah’s guidance and prayed also for Allah to grant Mr. Mahama’s heart desire, and the NDC as a whole.
On behalf of the Greater Accra Regional NDC Executives, the Zango Caucus Cordinator, Somalia Ali alias Horoya stated in his welcome address meeting shows the respect Mr. John Mahama and the NDC have for the chiefs, Imams and Muslims in Ghana.
He indicated that the 2020 general elections rekindled the love the people of the Zangos have for the NDC and hopig that the people will show more love to the party in the 2024 general elections.
Horoya promised the Greater Accra Regionsl Zango Caucus would continue to work hard with other regional executives to increase the votes of the party come 2024.
Adding, Ali Horoya ststes that, “we know NDC will in shaa Allah win the 2024 elections and will do more things for the people of Greater Accra Region; the NDC has a good record in the Zangos base on their previous Achievements”. “Our 2020 manifesto had good plans for the people of the Zangos”, he added.
