Information reaching Nationaltymes.com today, October 11,2021 indicates that a High Court in the Ashanti Region has ordered the National House of Chiefs, NHC to reinstate the name of Nii Boni King Tackie Adama Latse II in the register as the legitimate Ga-Mantse.
The National House of Chiefs is a respected institution clothed with powers to resolve chieftaintcy desputes between chiefs/Queens to restore and maintain peace and order amongst the local people for development.
Following the on-going Ga-Mantse despute in Accra, it was alleged that President Akufo-Addo was secretly using his expertise to corn majority of the chiefs who support him (Nana Addo) to expunge the name of the legitimate Ga-Mantse, King Nii Boni Adama latse II for Kelvin Nii Takie’s name onto the register of NHC.
But Kumasi High Court 7, presided over by Justice Frederick Tetteh has ordered the National House of Chiefs, led by Nana Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi from Sefwi Anhwinso to reinstate the name of King Tackie Adama Latse II in the register as the legitimate Ga-Mantse within two weeks.
As if it is their duty to fight for the ruling house in the Ga State, the worried National House of Chiefs threatened to appeal to get Kelvin Nii Tackie Gazetted as the new Ga-Mantse and be part of them in the House.
But unperturbed Counsil for King Tackie Adama Latse II, Mr. Stephen Asante Bekoe challenged the NHC to expedite their appeal anywhere he is always prepared to meet them following the nature of the case.
To this effect, he requested the Court to award about Ghc 400, 000 against the National House of Chiefs, NHC, but Justice Frederick Tetteh chose to award Ghc 250, 000 against NHC.
Some elders in the Ga State in an interview with Nationaltymes.com are accusing some Chiefs at the NHC that they hate to see the Ga speaking people living peacefully because of their lands.
So anybody wrong person who shows interest in the Ga-Mantse stool with money, the person gets backing from the NHC to deepen woes of the Gas.
President Akufo-Addo who is an Akyem from the Eastern Region of Ghana, was accused using office to canvass for Kelvin Takie to be the Ga-Mantse against the choice of the ruling houses of the Ga State, who are the custodians of the Ga Lands.
